New Year’s Eve in RAK

As of 20 October 2026 the emirate has not announced this year’s programme. Below is what last year looked like, from the organisers and the press, so you can plan around the early show. This page changes the day the announcement lands.

What last year looked like

Welcoming 2026, RAK ran two displays. At 8pm, fireworks over Corniche Al Qawasim in the city centre, billed by the tourism board as the one for families. At midnight, a 15-minute fireworks and drone show along about 6 km of coast from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra, with more than 2,300 drones and a Guinness World Records attempt for the largest firework.

Entry to the festival site at Al Hamra was free, with food trucks and inflatables from 2pm and music until 1am. Parking needed advance vehicle registration at raknye.com, in zones beside the site and a further zone at Exit 122 on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road with a free shuttle. Camping was in the Dhayah Zone next to the festival.

Expect the same shape this year until told otherwise: an early show in town for small children, a late one on the coast, and registration for parking once it opens.

Hear first

The Thursday list in Rakout Mums carries the announcement the week it lands, with the family show’s time and where to park.
